Bringing your lawn back from the dead…

It’s that time of the year again in New England where we suffer little to no rain and the temperatures are finally starting to cooperate enough to feel like summer during the day but perfect for sleeping at night!  Though we are a far cry from the draught they feel in other parts of the U.S., its safe to say that our lawns still suffer a great deal with this dry, late summer weather.

So, what do you do with your now brown lawn?

Water it!  But please be sure to check out this article from a past blog post because OVER-watering can actually be a huge problem!

Fertilize it!  Check out this article for some great pointers on fertilization from the Today Show!  Complete with a GREAT video!

Maintain your lawn care equipment!  According to Audubon.org  the average home owner spends roughly 40 hours mowing their lawn each year, and we Americans spend $8.5 billion on lawn care products and equipment. Be sure that blades aren’t dull and are being sharpened on a regular basis, check spark plugs, oil and gas!  For more tips.. http://home.howstuffworks.com/5-spring-lawn-care-tips.htm

Lastly, the best thing you can do for your lawn in the hotter, summer months is make sure you stick to a schedule!  Have set days where you water, fertilize, and move your lawn can help keep your lawn looking healthy. However if you do not have the time to religiously maintain your lawn, you can always call upon professional landscaping services.  Ambidextrous Inc. Landscaping would be happy to do a free estimate or quote on your lawn – call or email us today!
